Today our Creative Team is going to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons, starting with this Summery hello card from Clare.
Clare: I haven’t colored any images in what feels like a long time, so using the beautiful Daisy and Bugs Stamp & Cut was the perfect excuse to do so! I heat embossed the images, as well as a small daisy from the Little Florals stamp set, in White, and then colored them with my ZIG’s.
You may think these daisies look a little funky, but when I was searching for color inspiration, I stumbled upon African daisies – they really do come in the most amazing colors!
I cut out the flowers and adhered them to a card base, where I inked the sentiment in Versamark and Indigo, stamped it on the card base, and then heat embossed it in Sparkle embossing powder.
Finally, I did the same inking and heat embossed process with the new Picnic Blanket Bold Prints as I did with the sentiment, using Sea Layering cardstock. I adhered the cardstock to the card base, and then tied it off with some twine.
Next up, Amy has a creative idea that will make you look at smaller images in new ways.
Amy: I’ve been having fun ‘stretching my supplies’ and incorporating an added challenge of designing more birthday cards. The July My Monthly Hero optional add-ons are simply gorgeous, aren’t they? I had fun with the Little Florals set.
I love how smaller images can really pack a punch when concentrated in a smaller canvas. While keeping this in mind I teamed the set up with the Coffee Cup Tags Frame Cuts. I free hand cut a coffee sleeve after stamping the images with Intense Black Ink. My papers are from the Pool and Sunshine mix paper packages. Isn’t the Celebration Words Stencil fun? I inked it up with Tide Pool Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and Dandelion Bold Ink.
The sentiment is from the Birthday Messages set, stamped with Intense Black ink. Do you spy the Nesting Postage Stamps Infinity die? Doesn’t it make for a fun backdrop and seems to make the coffee cup pop. It has been hole punched and I used one of the circle dies from the Tag Infinity Dies set with a panel from the Sunshine Mix Layering pack. The birthday sentiment has not been adhered so that the card can fit in an A2 envelope.
We hope you enjoyed today’s projects. Thanks so much for stopping by for a peek!
