Today we're delighted to have Debi Adams here to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons.
Hey friends! Happy January! It’s a fresh start to a new year and what better way to start it off than with some new creative stamps, dies and inspiration. I’m featuring several of our fabulous January 2022 add-ons in two unique cards. Lots of sweet love headed your way.
This quick and easy card was created by stamping the blue cardstock background with Pool Party Reactive Ink using the stamps from the new Key to My Heart stamp set. The rest of the images were stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder, die-cut, colored and adhered to the top of the top-folded card front. A tiny bit of gold string was added for glitz.
The next card is a little more work but I really enjoyed the process and the outcome. It’s always fun playing with Reactive Inks and stretching their color blending capabilities. Oh, and take a peek and see the European Village Fancy Dies were incorporated into this one. Of course, the main stars are the new Locks Fancy Dies and Chain Linked Fence Bold Prints stamp. The stamp is perfect for grounding those adorable locks.
Here’s a little photo of how I set this card up…
First, I die-cut the European Villages from Dove White cardstock then fussy-cut Pitch Black cardstock to go behind them. I lightly marked where they would go onto the card base and then taped off a “wall or walkway” using washi tape. From there, everything was colored with blending brushes and inks. A bridge was formed from a small strip of Dove White cardstock with a partial circle cut from the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies. The villages and bridge were embellished with Soft Granite Ink.
Using Dove White cardstock, I die-cut the Eiffel Tower from the Looking Glass Paris Die, removed it from the frame and embellished it with ink. Assembly was next. Once the Eiffel Tower, bridge and villages were adhered (in that order), I stamped the lower portion of the card with the Chain Linked Fence Bold Prints stamp, embellishing it with silver embossing powder. The Fancy Locks, die-cut from various pieces of silver, gold and shiny-colored cardstock, were attached to the fence and two stamped sentiments completed the card.
Lots of love to share with these two cards. Hoping you get the chance to make a few and send them out to some special people. Pretty sure it will make their day!
