Today Creative Team member Ilina Crouse is going to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons. Take it away, Ilina...
Ilina: I love this month's add-ons! I have to say that the Bold Prints are my favorite, though I do LOVE the clear stamp sets and the Henna Flower Pattern wood mount stamp, too! And I don't want to leave out the Henna Ink Pads that are skin safe. My girls (4 and 5) and I had so much fun with those!
Today I have a couple cards for you, and a swatch of the Henna Ink Pads at the bottom of this post, so you can see the colors for your reference.
For my first card I used the Make a Wish stamp set, Magical Nights Messages set and Filigree Pattern Bold Prints. I started by stamping the genie and the "bottle" onto white card stock and colored her with Chameleon pens and color tops. Next I cut them out and set aside. On a strip of black layering paper (Midnight mixed layering papers) I stamped the Make A Wish sentiment from Magical Night Messages using Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
I stamped the Filigree Pattern on a 3 3/4" x 5" panel of Snow layering paper using Versamark ink and again embossed with white embossing powder. Then using Soft Pool Ink I applied some ink onto the background (where I wanted the genie to be), I sprinkled some gold FineTec Mica watercolor, assembled my card ( used black notecard) and added some Champagne sequins to finish it off.
For my next card I used the Mandala Bold Prints. I started by stamping onto vellum card stock using Versamark ink, then I embossed it with gold embossing powder. Trimmed it to 4" wide and cut along the curved line. I adhered to to 4"x 5 1/2" piece of Pool mixed layering papers (the darkest hue).
I stamped the sentiment from the Magical Nights Messages onto Snow Layering paper with Versamark and embossed with gold. Next using Soft Pool Ink pad I stamped one of the images from the Ornate Henna Patterns set. Die cut it using the Circle Infinity Dies. Next I applied ink directly from the Versamark ink pad to the circle (by brushing the edges directly on the ink pad) and embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut the next larger circle from gold shimmery card stock.
I assembled all the elements, adhered the whole panel to a Snow notecard and added Champagne sequins to finish it off.
Now, let's take a look at the colors of the new Henna Ink pads. I used one of the images from the Ornate Henna Patterns set to stamp them (in person they do look darker) We have the Onyx, Lapis, Scarab and Amber. As I said at the beginning, my girls and I had lots of fun stamping our hands and then faces with these.
We hope you enjoyed today’s projects and thank you for stopping by for a peek!
