Hello! We are continuing the countdown to the release of the August My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, August 5th at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. Now let's join Caly for another look at our next kit!

Hi, friends! It’s Caly here. Today, I’ve created a clean and simple card using two of the images from this month’s kit.

I stamped and colored my king and queen using Copic markers before die-cutting. While I was doing this, I realized that the same die cuts both images! Thought that was pretty neat and think you can make some fun spinner cards!

Copic colors used: R30, R22, V01, V04, C1, C5, C7, Y02, Y17, Y28, R05, R29, E51, E35, E39, B24, B26

On a white piece of cardstock, I masked off an area to ink-blend some Soft Brown for the floor and then flipped the masking paper to ink-blend the other side with Cornflower ink. To add a bit more interest, I flipped the cardstock over and scored two lines at the center of the cardstock to mimic stair steps.

To finish my card, I added the images using foam adhesive and stamped the sentiment below the first step. I really wanted to create a throne scene and I hope I’ve accomplished that with this card.

Interesting kit this month. This has great potential and I have nothing like it in my stash. Love the idea of using the king & queen as a spinner – those Hero Arts designers are so clever using the same die for both stamps.

Cute card. I like the addition of the “steps”. The scored lines are subtle and add the perfect amount of texture to this clean and simple card. Neat that the same die works for both monarchs. Spinning royalty … hmmm …..
