A Truck for All Seasons
Hey Hero friends! This is Mindy with you today to share inspiration using the new Farmer's Market Truck Fancy Die. This die is definitely one that can be used throughout the seasons. Today I'm bringing on the Spring vibes and pulling out some previous stamps that need some love.
So I did some research looking up old trucks. I had already created a truck in red and wanted to find another color combination that would work well. My brother had a truck similar to this but I didn't think red with oranges flames would work in the scene I wanted to create.
I settled on using Paradise, Bermuda and Deluxe White cardstock for the body of my truck and then Charcoal for the tires. The bumper and mirrors I used a silver foil cardstock from my stash. I die cut the truck from all of these pieces of cardstock and paper pieced it together with my Precision Glue and handy dandy tweezers. So fun how you can customize it!
Now for the background, I went digging into my HeroScapes. I love the scenes from these sets and landed on using the Tulip Field set which I haven't brought out in a while. Dig through your stash and see what kind of scene you could build for your truck. I think this truck would look awesome with a Christmas tree in the back driving through some trees but I am so over Winter right now.
I stamped the Tulip Field using Kiwi, Pine, Lemon Yellow and Spicy Mustard Core Inks. I stamped the field twice so I could layer them together to fill in the scene.
I added a basket of flowers and that sweet puppy to the back of my truck. The puppy I die cut from Deluxe White cardstock and colored in with my OLO markers. The flower basket I die cut from Sand cardstock and added dimension with my OLO markers and the flowers were supposed to be die cut from Ultra Pink cardstock but I apparently just grabbed a scrap piece of pink cardstock from my stash. Ultra Pink would have more vibrant.
To really set the scene, I ink blended Summer Sky onto Deluxe White cardstock using a blending brush and had it fade off towards the center of the card.
I popped up my truck in the scene using foam squares to make it stand out from the field a little. The sentiment comes from the Big Hugs Stamp & Cut set. I die cut it multiple times from Pitch Black cardstock and layered it together for dimension.
What a serene scene and such a great way to dig out our HeroScapes.
Hope you enjoyed today's inspiration!
