A Slothful Pair
One of my favorite woodblock stamps from the new summer catalog is the Sloth. He is just too darn cute! He’s so detailed, that if you’re an amazing color-er (is that a thing??), then you could have some serious fun, but if you’re like me, coloring impaired, he’s still a snap to color!
The first card, I quickly colored in the sloth with some gray ZIG markers and a bit of water. I stamped a tropical scene using leaves from the Color Layering Parrot stamp set, using Soft Granite, Bubblegum and Soft Pool.
To add some interest to the card, I cut around the side of the sloth, and adhered it to the card base on some dimensional adhesive. I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock, heat embossed it in white, and die cut it using the Circle Infinity dies.
For the second card, I did some more quick ZIG coloring, and also used Mint to add some coloring around the sloth. I die cut the sloth using the Tag Infinity dies, tied the tag off with some string, and adhered it to my purple card base using dimensional adhesive.
I brought in some more purple by stamping a leaf (also from the Color Layering Parrot stamp set) in different purple inks – Grape Juice, Passion Flower, and Orchid. I cut them out, adhered them to the tag, and topped them off with some pearls. To finish the card off, I stamped and heat embossed the same sentiment as from the first card, and die cut it using the bubble die from the Yes Stamp and Cut stamp set.
As detailed as the sloth is, there’s no need to fear, my fellow coloring-impaired cardmakers! Just add some dabs of watercolor, and this cute stamp does the rest of the work for you!
Thanks for stopping in and God bless!
Super cute!!!! Just bought it, but feel like I need that dark purple ink now. ❤️
