A Rose by Any Other Name...
On my daily walk I passed by my gorgeous gardenia bushes and was amazed by the wonderful aroma this year. For some reason they have bloomed twice. I thought Hero Florals Rose Stem looked a lot like my gardenias, so I used that for today's cards. I am also taken with typewriter fonts, so that's another reason.
I stamped the image on heavy watercolor paper in black and let it thoroughly dry. Add watercolors in layers. (Tip: stamp several flowers at a time and then paint while others dry!) I absolutely LOVE using From the Vault Aged Shadow Stamp for a background. Simply ink up with any pale color and mist with water and stamp. Or take a few inks and combine for a multi-color background.
Die cut with the Frame Cuts or hand cut. Stamp your desired message and then foam mount the rose on the shadow stamped background. Mount on desired papers.
For a really elegant look, stamp a matching liner from the rose stamp in a matching color. Copy paper works great. Insert in envelope and tack with a bit of glue.
These are easy and fast to make so you always have a card to send in a hurry.
