A New Look at Hero Transfers: Acetate Edition!
Welcome friends! This is Mindy today and I'm here to share a new look at Hero Transfers. You may have already thought of it but it was like a revelation to me!
One of the hardest things for me to do, personally, in card making is to heat emboss on acetate. I have always found it a little tricky. The Hero Transfers takes away all that stress! Since I had the idea to put the Holiday Message Hero Transfers on acetate the next logical thing was to create a shaker card.
I started by creating the cover. I used the Color Layering Poinsettia Window Stencils to frame my sentiment. The colors I used for the stencil are: Cherry, Cranberry, Green Apple, Pine, Dandelion and Spicy Mustard. I used a mix of large and small blending brushes and applied my ink to Deluxe Smooth White cardstock.
To create the window, I used a Nesting Oval Infinity Die. I picked a size that would just fit my sentiment and not cut off too much of the flower. After trimming out my window, I decided I wanted to create a white border so I die cut the panel once again but this time using a Nesting Rectangle Die.
Then I added a piece of acetate behind the window and attached it with double sided tape.
Before I added any foam tape to create the actual shaker, I applied my Holiday Message rub-on transfer to the front of the acetate. Did you know you can overlap your transfers? This gives the coolest look!
So once my transfers were in place, I added a double layer of foam tape behind the window to create my well.
The shaker bits I used come from the Icicle Sequins Mix. I added some to the center of an A2 size panel of Deluxe Smooth White cardstock, removed the backing of the foam tape and added Precision Glue to the exposed adhesive. This allows me a little wiggle room when placing my window over the sequins.
After I had everything attached, I added a few drops of Gold Hero Pearls to the center of the poinsettias.
How crazy fun is this?! I absolutely love the transfers over acetate! I hope you give it a try!
Thanks for stopping in!
