Today's post introduces the latest challenge from our friends over at A Blog Named Hero. We are so thankful for the support they give us, and the amazing creations the team creates. If you're looking for a fun challenge to play along with, check them out! Today team member, Dhruvika, is sharing a cheerful card for their October challenge!
Hi there crafting friends! I’m excited to be here today, to introduce the latest challenge on A Blog Named Hero.
Helping others, encouraging others are often acts of kindness that have more meaning than we realize. Thus, my card on encouragement!
For my card, I started with plain Dove White card base, then I took some Hero Paste and mixed it with Lemon Yellow ink to give a yellow look and then scraped it over the Sun Background Stencil. I then kept it aside to dry.
On a separate white cardstock I stamped the images of the seagulls and the lighthouse using the Seas the Day Seagulls stamp set and colored them using Copic markers. I then trimmed a panel of vellum paper from the Classic Vellum Layering Paper measuring 2.5 x 4.5 inches and stuck my images using a liquid adhesive such that the textured rays seem to come out of the lighthouse.
While my textured panel was dry now I placed the vellum panel over it and stuck using the 3D foam tape under the images. I then stamped the waves from the same Seas the Day Seagulls stamp set using Blue Hawaii Reactive ink.
I stamped the sentiment ‘You go gull’ using Clear Embossing and Watermark Ink on a strip of Pitch Black cardstock and heat set it with White Embossing Powder.
To complete the look, I trimmed this panel to 4 x 5 inches and pasted it on the panel which was hand blended using the masking paper at equal intervals to create the horizontal lines.
Hope you enjoyed seeing this card and would definitely give it a try of adding texture to your cards.
As always, our beloved Hero Arts have sponsored us, so you can win one of two gift vouchers to buy some delicious Hero Arts goodies!!
I hope you like it!! I can’t wait to make more to send out this year.
Hope you’re all keeping safe and well, we look forward to seeing what you make for the challenge!
