A Blog Named Hero - Embossing Challenge

Hello crafty friends!

It’s Linda from A Blog Named Hero, and I’m ridiculously excited to be here today, to introduce the new challenge on A Blog Named Hero.

It’s seriously made an impression on me…*snort*

This can be dry embossing or heat embossing, we don’t mind, we just want to see your creative flag fly.

I wanted to get a bit crafty (crafty like a fox I mean), so I decided to use my new Thanks Message Fancy Die, to emboss a print onto the cardstock panel.

I ran it through my diecutting machine multiple times, using the embossing pads to create a repeated impression.

After trimming my card base down, I then diecut a ‘thanks’ from a panel of watercolour cardstock that I’d made gorgeous using the Hero Arts Liquid Watercolours in Strawberry, Deep Ocean and Dandelion. So easy to do and so beautiful! Just drips onto some pre-wet cardstock and then mist again to blend!

I diecut a second ‘thanks’ from black cardstock, to really make the colourful diecut pop. I adhered the two together, slightly off-set to create a shadow effect.

I compiled my card together, attaching the embossed panel using foam tape to make it nice and dimensional. For a final touch, I added some Nuvo drops, and an additional ‘mini-sentiment’ from the Many Everyday Messages stamp set, which I heat embossed on black cardstock with the one-and-only Hero Arts white embossing powder.

I do hope you’ll join us! We’d love to see you all getting crafty.

See you again next month!
