A Blog Named Hero - Cute!

Aug 29, 2020 Hero Arts

Hi crafting friends! Linda here with a new project today, introducing the latest A Blog Named Hero challenge, which is...

For my card, I wanted to play with some brand-new-to-me goodies that just arrived in the mail to create a banner scene, because what’s cuter than a banner swaying in the breeze?!

I started with a piece of Hero Hues Lapis cardstock (you could easily use any of the blues). I then die-cut some stencils using the Cloudy Sky Scene Dies, and used an ink blender to create the cloudy effect, with Hero Hues Sapphire Pigment Ink. I love this colour! I made sure to shift the stencil around, and use varying levels of pressure to differentiate the clouds.

Next I took my Banner Letterset Fancy Die and ran it through my diecut machine, cutting one of each letter out (why not multitask?!) and I then used Copic markers to colour them in for a gradient effect in my favourite pinky-fuschia hue.

I free-hand drew the string, and attached the banner letters on top before outlining each letter with some glitter gelly roll pen. I adhered the clouds using some foam tape for dimension and voila! Card done :)

I do hope that you’ll create something CUTE for us, and enter in to the new challenge, thanks to our lovely sponsors Hero Arts, you could win one of two gift cards to do some shopping! You have until 5pm on September 10th to enter over on A Blog Named Hero.

Thanks for joining me, can’t wait to see what you create!

Your card has inspired me to make cards for my peers In the hospital; women and men who work every day with me at the bedside and inspire me to give my all on behalf of our patients. It’s so important to celebrate the best in others, to let them know they matter and what they contribute to the world makes a difference.

Thank you for sharing!
