3-D Houses for Fall

Sep 27, 2017 Ilina Crouse

It's finally Fall! Though if you live in the South (Georgia for example) it may not feel like it. Just knowing that the temperatures will start dropping soon and it will become less humid makes me feel hopeful (I am honestly ready for summer weather to be over). And, I love Fall. All the rich colors, smell of pie and other baked goods. Knowing Halloween and Thanksgiving are fast approaching, and then Christmas, too. It's my favorite time of the year for crafting and decorating. Did you know that the 3-D House Fancy Die and the 3-D Two-Story House Fancy Die are perfect to make Fall decor? As well, you can use them with place cards for Fall or Thanksgiving meals. You can even thread a string on the roof and hang them (little hint for Christmas ornaments ;)) You can also make them taller with selective die-cutting!

I had lots of fun playing with these little houses and making some Fall decor. I die cut few of them using different colors of layering papers (Sunshine, Foliage and Blush.)

After I die cut them I stamped the Wave Pattern and Designer Woodgrain background stamps using Versamark ink and embossed with Ultra Fine clear embossing powder. I set them aside. Next I used 3-D House Essentials and Home Sweet Home stamp sets to stamp the accessories for the houses onto Snow Layering Paper with Intense Black ink and quickly applied Ultra Fine embossing powder and heat set it. I colored all the little elements using Chameleon Pens and cut them out.

The next step was decorating the houses. I think this was the most fun part. I adhered all the little elements (accessories) on the houses using strong adhesive (I used Multi Matte Medium, but you can use any other adhesive you like). Then I adhered each house together.

I wanted more variety of color, so I made separate roofs for each house. I used Sunshine, Foliage, Blush and Earth Mix Layering papers. I stamped the Kelly's Wood Grid on each using Versamark ink and embossed with Ultra Fine embossing powder. Then cut each piece down to 1 1/4" x 2 1/2" and scored in half (at the 1 1/4" mark). I adhered each piece on the roof of each house.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to do some fall crafting!
