Video: Inlay Rainbow Cards Featuring the May My Monthly Hero Kits

Hello friends!! It’s Channin here and in today’s video I will create a simple inlay rainbow background that pairs beautifully with the childhood themed dies and images from the May My Monthly Hero Classic and Premium Kits. Check out the video below and/or read the following post to get the step-by-step instructions on these colorful cards.

Watch below or on the Hero Arts YouTube channel.

The first card I started with was the card featuring the Tri-Fold Fancy Die Set ( Premium ). To create this card I first die cut an A2 panel of Dove White  cardstock with the tree/bench Tri-Fold Die; this would be the back panel for my layered scene so therefore it is my tallest. Next, I die cut a second A2 panel of Dove White  cardstock with the dog/mailbox (middle panel - medium length) and girl/bike (front panel - shortest length) dies at either. I then trimmed up the three panels to even the right and left sides and set them aside.

Next, I created my inlay rainbow background. First I die cut an A2 panel of Arctic  cardstock with the second largest die from the Nesting Infinity Circles Dies  set. Next, I die cut some Ultra Pink cardstock with the second largest die and the fourth largest die, basically skipping a circle die to create a 1/4” ring. I then die cut some Coral cardstock with the smaller die (the fourth largest in the set) out of the two I just used and the sixth largest die. I repeated this process of die-cutting progressively smaller rings for Mustard , Meadow and Paradise cardstocks.

When I finished die-cutting my five rings, I then die cut a final circle out of Arctic cardstock with the twelfth largest die in the Nesting Infinity Circles Dies  set. Next, I adhered the Arctic panel, all the rings, and the final Arctic circle to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base

I then adhered my tri-fold panels together and stamped a sentiment from the clear stamp set ( Classic & Premium ) in Granite  Core ink at the bottom. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the stacked scene to the card front.

For my second card I used the leftover circles from the first card to create a second inlay rainbow panel, however because these circles were the leftover pieces the rainbow is slightly smaller.

After I adhered the rainbow panel to my card base I then die cut an A2 panel of Dove White cardstock with the grass coordinating die ( Classic & Premium ). I then adhered the panel to my card base .

Next, I stamped one of the layered bikes from the clear stamp set ( Classic & Premium ) in Granite  Core ink and then die cut it out with the coordinating dies ( Classic & Premium ). I adhered the bike to the card front with foam adhesive and finished the card by stamping a sentiment in Granite .

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!
