Video: Interactive Rotating Scene Card Featuring the February 2022 MMH Kit

Feb 08, 2022 Channin Pelletier

Hello friends!! It’s Channin here and today I have a fun interactive card featuring the brand new February My Monthly Hero Kit! In today’s video I create a rotating wheel card that features a watercolored sky that changes with every turn! Please check out the video to see the whole process.

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.)

To create this card I first stamped the front of an A2 panel of Pebble cardstock with a sentiment and image from the February My Monthly Hero Kit in Charcoal Shadow Ink. Next, I cut out the opening in the arched image to create a window using a craft knife and scissors. I then used a gray Copic marker to color the cut edges and add a shadow to the steps.

Next, I die cut two large circles with the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies, one out of watercolor paper and the other out of copy paper. I then folded the copy paper circle into fourths to find the center, marked it, then pierced it with a pin so I could transfer the center point onto the watercolor circle. I then pierced the center on the watercolor circle with a pin to create a hole.

Next, I die cut a smaller circle (about 1 1/2” wide) out of heavy weight cardstock and pierced a hole through the center of it. I then fed both circles through a brad (smaller circle against the head of the brad) and adhered the smaller circle to the card front of an A2 top-folding Pebble card base with foam adhesive. I then removed the watercolor circle from the brad and set the card base aside.

Next, with the Daniel Smith Watercolors included in the kit, I painted a changing sky onto the the watercolor circle. While the circle dried I die cut a notch out of the windowed panel using a circle die from the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies Set. I finished the card by placing the watercolor circle back onto the brad and then adhered the panel onto the card front with doubled up foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!

This card was so interesting and no special dies, etc. to create it. What do you mean, you’re not a water colorer? That was wonderful and thanks for sharing your tips and techniques.
