Reading is such an important part of our lives and I am so excited to be able to make bookmarks like these! My granddaughter has just opened up to the love of reading and is all about bookmarks. I love the coloring on Maria’s card. I love that Mindy chose to make a bookmark – people, we CANNOT encourage reading too much!! It’s a great way to lift self and family to a better life. Reading also allows you to escape your real life and explore other times, places and cultures. Dan’s card is also a wonderful affirmation. Love the sentiment, Dan!

Such wonderful projects. When I saw the first card I immediately thought of my oldest granddaughter. She’s 16 and going through the normal teenage questions of who she is and who she wants to be. That sentiment would be perfect for her and I love that image!

The first person I thought of when I saw this post was my mom! She is an 84 year-old librarian who absolutely loves books and sharing them with children. Recently, she has started a weekly book reading for families at a library where she volunteers. Mom spends hours making bookmarks for the kids to take and use. This kit will be perfect for me to use to make bookmarks for her to give away. What a treat!

I’m excited to see that reading seems to be the focus of this months kit. My mom always told me “you will never be alone, as long as you have a book,” and that a book could take you to places you could you could only imagine. I’m anxious for the arrival of this kit.
