Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the June My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, June 8 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Our Creative Team will be here all weekend sharing sneak peeks. At this time, we estimate June kits and add-ons will begin shipping on June 19. We appreciate your patience as we continue to work on restarting our operations in a safe manner and fulfilling orders already in-house. Now let's join Janette for the first beautiful look at this month's kit!
Hello, friends! Hero Arts is taking us on an adventure to see the Aurora Borealis and I am all too happy to tag along. I have never witnessed them in person, but it is certainly on my list to do so!
Recreate this project by ink blending with Reactive Inks in Pool Party and Splash, then Amethyst Pigment Ink from the bottom up on an A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") Dove White cardstock panel. Combining ink types is not only OK, but I encourage it! Experiment - stretch your collection!
Die cut kit included lighthouse, bird and star. Cut once in Dove White and again in Pebble cardstock for the lighthouse and bird, and Canary for the star. Stamp sentiment in Moonstone Pigment Ink and heat emboss with Sparkle Embossing Powder - no need for embossing ink!
After ink blended panel has thoroughly dried, and has been liberally dusted with anti-static powder, Sparkle heat emboss with kit included background stamp. Layer matching die cut images together, slightly offset, to create a drop shadow and adhere in place. Fussy cut sentiment and pop in place with dimensional adhesive. Then, adhere finished panel to folded card base.

Wow! I love these colours together, they are my go to colours in my card making too. I love how the clear embossing powder really gives a good shine to the colours and also how this stamp looks so different in clear embossing powder to the white embossing powder.

Oh my! The Aurora..definitely on my bucket list! My husband and I traveled to Alaska on a guided trip in an attempt to see the lights. Lady Aurora didn’t show while we were there, but it was a great trip anyway. Can’t wait to see the rest of this kit!

Woot! Janette, your card is fabulous! Along with the beautiful colours blended so well, you’ve increased the beauty with the embossing powder. I live near (not ocean view) of the ocean & it is my place to find peace when I feel in extra need of it. I did not sign the cards put a note inside asking them to send the card to someone that might need a pick me up… Pay it forward. love the colour choices you used in this example. I was fortunate enough to see the northern lights in Maine when I was young. I was with my immediate & extended family, & we all witnessed the magic & beauty of the night sky with its flowing colors. Now they are all gone, except my aunt, who is in a nursing home in northern Maine. I send her cards regularly, as I am not allowed to visit her yet from my home in CT, & would love to send a card like this that would remind her of happier times. You are right, cards do bring a bit of sunshine into people’s lives, especially the personalized ones we make for our friends & family.
