Hello friends! We are interrupting this weekend's regularly scheduled Countdown to Creativity just briefly to join our friend Kathy's The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge blog hop! Kathy is a great friend of Hero Arts, and we are so very proud of her for inspiring the crafting community to just relax a bit and COLOR. It really is good for the soul! Jessica has a gorgeous card to show you, which features some new products that are also releasing on Monday as optional add-ons to the My Monthly Hero kit. While commenting on the Countdown to Creativity blog posts this weekend enters you into the drawing for a free kit, if you comment on this post, you'll be entered into a drawing to win the products Jessica used today! Good morning! Jess here representing Hero Arts for Kathy Racoosin's The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Blog Hop! It's the 10th Coloring Challenge and Kathy's celebrating all month long! Hero Arts is joining in the fun today and will be giving away the three products I used for my card. They are add-ons for our June My Monthly Hero kit.
Part of the fun of the coloring challenge is that there are really no rules. You don't have to color every part of your card...you don't even have to make a card! The idea is that you just find a little time everyday for 30 days to color something! My card just has a little coloring today but even a little coloring gives me the chance to practice some shading. To start I stamped the cute seagull and the piling from Seas the Day Seagulls onto white cardstock with Intense Black ink and colored them with Copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. Next I die-cut a circle from vellum using our Nesting Circle Infinity Dies. I stamped the waves and sentiment onto the vellum with Versamark and heat-embossed them with silver embossing powder.
Next I blended Tide Pool, Antigua, and Ocean inks onto a piece of watercolor paper. Once I was done blending I spritzed it with the Sea Foam Shimmer Spray that's included in the June My Monthly Hero kit. I let it dry completely and then stamped the panel with the Abstract Waves background stamp. I heat-embossed the waves with silver sparkle embossing powder and then trimmed the panel down to 4" by 5.25". I adhered that to a white card base and then adhered the vellum circle with vellum adhesive. I added the piling and seagull with foam mounting tape to finish the card. It's nice how that little touch of Copic coloring makes the card pop! :)

I love the seashore! I grew up on Long Island and love the beaches. Theres just something about sand between your toes and sun on your face that just makes life better! I love your sets! Plus I missed out on the monthly kit so this would be AMAZING!!

I love your seagull card! We have movies of my mom eating something at Disney World and a seagull stealing what she’s eating and almost spilling her coffee all over her! Those guys are really sneaky! I love the background color you used too. It’s so pretty! What is my favorite thing about the seashore? The sea shells and sea glass. My youngest sister gets all the sea glass but I just love to look at the sea shells and sometimes I actually take some home! Our daughter and her family live on Maui so our favorite thing about the seashore is going to the beach with them and our grandson so we can play in the sand or walk along the ocean. Seeing whales and dolphins is icing on the cake.

When I was 5yrs.old my mother and I would scower the beach for sea glass. I was in awe of how smooth and beautiful each piece was. How each piece had it’s own personality. I was fascinated with how the sand and the sea worked together to create them. We would take each piece home and put them in a glass jar. Mom has passed but she left me with spectacular memories of collecting the sea glass and I have the sea glass that we collected together

My favorite thing about the lakeshore (I live near a great lake rather than the ocean) is body surfing on the waves. Though I’m now 75 and haven’t done that for a while, so maybe listening to and watching the gulls is more relevant.

I lived by the coast for many years and my favourite thing to do was take my horse for a gallop when there was no-one around, just Puck, me and the Seagulls!

What I love best about the sea shore is the serenity. Ever since my daughter was young I made a point of spending at least one day a year at the beach with her, just the 2 of us. Now that she is grown and a Mom of 2 little boys we now share that special time with them. It is priceless to all of us!

I am a lake shore person, since I live in Michigan. I love to watch the water glistening when the sun hits it. Also nothing better than a sunset on the water.

When you are born and raised in Denmark the seashore has great importance. No matter where you are the seashore is within reach. I love the calmness I feel when sitting/walking on sandy beach. The respect I also feel for mother nature and the sea. The sea can be your best friend as long as you respect it.

your card is so stunning with that sea effect behind the seagull. Love how it looks like the swirls of the ocean. My favourite things about the seaside is the feelings of calm and peace that it gives me as I sit and just listen to the sea. My favourite sea creatures is the seahorse , I have a tiny seahorse tattooed on my back as they mate together for life and work at everything as a couple, to me that was a great symbol for my marriage. What a great card and I just cannot wait until Monday to see the new kit! I have tried the coloring challenge and I am going for it again this month. I will just have to see how well I do this time because I always have a hard time posting my coloring . I am sure even my 7 year old grandson is better but what the heck let’s try again. Love the design and the gorgeous colors this month! My favorite thing about the seashore is the calming effect of the breeze and wave sounds early in the morning. When I lived in northern Florida I would visit the beach with my dog and my coffee and just walk and chill. The dog, however, enjoyed chasing the sandpipers.
