One thing I love about this year’s Holiday catalog is the versatility of the stamps – they’re not limited to just holidays or one theme/season/color choice. Today I want to show you how to use a “fall” tree and make it work for a winter card!
I started my card off by stamping the Color Layering Fall Trees in the gray color from Kelly's Urban Inks (love these colors!). If you wanted, you could leave the tree at that, and add glitter to the branches for snow. However, I went for a unrealistic, but fun tree, so I used the layering leaf scatterings to stamp some dark and light blue! Hey, no color limits with these trees. ;)
I topped the tree off with some glitter, which is hard to see in this photo, but so pretty in real life!
Now for my favorite part of the card – the sentiment! I think multi-colored sentiments are so cool, so I stamped this sentiment using the same colors from the tree. One tip when using multi-colored sentiments, especially if the sentiments overlap a little – make sure the more decorative text (in this case, “cheer”) is a lighter color than the more simple text (“winter”), so that you don’t lose any part of the message in the colors.
Thanks so much for stopping in today, and I hope you’ll experiment with your color choices, both with your sentiments and your images!
