Today I get to share with you some not-so-Valentine-ish cards using some Valentine stamps – in a video! Check it out below:
If you are having problems viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.
I started both cards out by covering the card base with Versamark (watch the video for my tips on this part!), then going over with clear sparkle embossing powder. If you don’t have glitter embossing powder, you can make your own by simply mixing some regular embossing powder with ultra fine glitter! I definitely recommend the ultra fine glitter, as larger glitter will more likely melt and not look so pretty. ;)
I also heat embossed the solid heart from the Color Layering Love Heart stamp set, but I inked it up with Soft Apricot after inking up with Versamark, for a slightly darker tone. Inking up with Versamark before the color ink helps the image grab the embossing powder better.
Then for the panels of both cards, I stamped the Heart Vine in Fresh Peach, and topped it off with the cut out embossed heart, and a fun embossed sentiment. The panel is then adhered to the card base, and topped off with some pretty sequins.
Don’t these cards look so cute together?
I love the rather non-traditional colors of these cards, which lets you use them for any time of the year, not just St. Valentine’s Day! Color options abound – what cool combo will you use for your next card?
Thanks for stopping in with me today and God bless!
