One of my favorite Christmas color combos is the classic red and green, with kraft and a metallic color. With this in mind, I created a simple card that features the absolutely gorgeous Antique Poinsettia, and the awesome new Rectangle Infinity dies.
To start my card off, I heat embossed the poinsettia in gold on some watercolor cardstock three times, then used the coordinating paper layering dies to cut each layer out. I absolutely love how these dies work with the stamp! I kept my flower pretty flat because of the thickness of the cardstock, but I plan on making another poinsettia using vellum, and then curling up the petals for a more realistic look. ;)
I colored in the poinsettia quickly with some ZIG pens, then toped them off with some gems.
Now, to frame this gorgeous flower, I used the new Rectangle Infinity die set. This set is so versatile, and honestly, like nothing else I’ve seen. I had a previous set of nesting rectangle dies (that didn’t come with as many sizes), and the metal was flimsy and sometimes gave a curved look to the edges – but not these dies! There are a TON of dies in just one pack, and I found the dies to be stable and retain their shape very well!
Using these dies, I cut out a frame for my flower, and a kraft panel to go right behind it. I them heat embossed the sentiment in gold – it can be a little hard to see straight on, but when you tilt the card, the gold really shimmers.
That finished off my card! What do you think of these new rectangle dies? I can’t wait to use them to cut down perfectly sized A2 card front panels and also make some shaker cards!
Thanks so much for stopping in with me today and God bless!
