Hello! There are so many great ways to create dimension on your cards and today I’m excited to show off the fabulous new Paper Layering Mum Flower Die that brings dimension to a whole new level!
To create the card, I die cut the Paper Layering Mum from a circle piece of watercolor paper just slightly larger than my flower. Next, I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to create a gradient of color from the center of the circle outwards. I simply scribbled directly on the paper with the markers and then used a water brush to blend the colors together. I loved how the color seeped into the creases of the die cut petals to add a bit of darker color around the edges.
Once it was completely dry, I used a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush and a white colored pencil to add a bit of detail to each petal. It doesn’t show up the best in the photo, but in real life it makes the petals pop!
Next, I adhered the flower to a square card base, making sure not to put any glue behind the petals that I wanted to pop up. Then I cut tiny pieces of foam adhesive and tucked them behind the outer two layers of petals. You can also just curl the petals out with a stylus, but I’m sending this card though the mail and I wanted to make sure the petals stayed fluffy.
I finished the card off with a message from the must-have Many Everyday Messages set and a bit of gold thread behind the message banner.
Thank for stopping by today!
