Hi! It’s Libby here today, and I’m sharing a scrapbook layout I put together using photos from my recent trip to CHA! This was my first time attending the tradeshow, and I was thrilled to get to help out in the Hero Arts booth! AND!! One of the many things I loved about the trip was getting to meet Kelly Purkey! I am such a fan, have been for ages, and I’m thrilled that she’s teamed up with Hero Arts to create her Clearly Kelly line! They are seriously fun little sets for stamping all of your adventures!
I like to do pocket-style scrapbooking, so I began by cutting some watercolor paper into 4″x6″ and 3″x4″ cards. Kelly’s cling stamps, sized 4.25″x6.25″, are perfect for creating these backgrounds! I inked up Kelly’s Background Tile with Tide Pool ink and spritzed, then set my paper briefly on the stamp. To add a little more splotchy, watercolored goodness, I spritzed Pool Spray onto my craft sheet, added a little water and dipped my cards into it. I just love the backgrounds this creates!
One of my very favorite stamp sets from the Clearly Kelly collection is Kelly’s Outline Letters! They are so awesome!! I love the font, and they also have these cool little shapes you can use to decorate the letters. How fun is that??? The other letters are from the Stamp & Cut Flag set – another fabulous alphabet!!
There are so many fun stamps for scrapbooking in the Clearly Kelly collection! I pretty much used something from every single clear set on my layout! A favorite thing to do is include tone on tone stamping of messages in my background, like I did below with the “this is seriously cool” stamp (Which, by the way, is a seriously cool message stamp! It’s part of Kelly’s Take Note.). It adds such fun dimension to the background.
Another favorite set of mine is Kelly’s Food Coma – the “yum” stamp is adorable (and see how I added it to the background again?), and “good friends good food” is one I’m sure I’ll use on my layouts again and again! I was happy to use it here to document a dinner out with two of my favorite people, Lisa & Sally!! But… probably my favorite single stamp out of the entire collection is “mama needs a cocktail” from Kelly’s No Comment. I’ll just leave it at that. No comment. :)
And here’s a look at my final layout. There’s so many little details that are so difficult to photograph. For me, anyway. If only I had the mad photography skills like Lisa, or KP herself!
One last thing – did you notice who I finally got to meet in person!??!? No, I’m not referring to that grungy distress guy! ;-) I got to finally meet our Hero Arts CEO, Aaron!! :)
The Clearly Kelly collection will begin shipping to stores in early February and will also be available in the Hero Arts Online Store later in the month.
Thanks for stopping by today,
