Hi! It’s Mariana here today sharing a tutorial of how I created a paper flower and a pine tree using the new Umbrella Fancy Die Set by Hero Arts.
You will see how easy and fun it can be to create them. :-) Here is what I used to make the flower…
I began by die cutting three canopy shapes using pink cardstock. I cut out four, two and one sections of the shapes. Then, I folded and glued the two ending sections of each canopy to create the three layers of the flower.
Next, I made the center and stem of the flower with a bead and floral wire. I twisted the wire several times to secure the bead and make the stem thicker. After that, I inserted the stem into the narrower canopy shape.
Then, I inserted the other two layers putting hot glue between them to secure the layers in place. At the end, I wrapped the stem with floral tape and I also put some paper leaves.
I made some more flowers using different colors of cardstock to create a colorful floral arrangement…
The pine tree is very easy to make as well. Here is what I used to create it…
In this case, I cut out three sections of three canopy shapes.
Then, I punched a hole in the middle of two of the shapes.
After that, I used hot glue to affix a lollipop stick into the top layer of the pine. Then, I slid in the second and the third layer using hot glue to secure them in place. You can use this pine shapes as part of your holiday decorations this year!
Before I go… we also have a giveaway winner to announce! The winner of the $25 Hero Arts shopping spree from last Friday’s post is Amy Cooley (comment #46 on June 5th, 2015 at 4:12 pm). Congratulations Amy! Please email email@example.com to claim your prize.
I hope you enjoyed these tutorials. If you have another ideas on how to use this die set, please be sure to share them with us. Thanks for joining me!
