I’ve been having so much fun using the new layered poinsettias and layered leaf stamps included in the first My Monthly Hero kit, available October 5th from Hero Arts! When stamped together, the layered stamps create the most beautiful and realistic poinsettia image, perfect for all kinds of holiday cards and tags! The stamps align so easily when stamping each layer of color. Plus, the kit includes five beautiful inks, three reds and two greens.
For this design, I started by creating a green, top-fold card using a piece of cardstock from the Foliage Mix Layering Papers pack. I also trimmed a piece of Snow Layering Paper slightly smaller than my card front. To create the NOEL sentiment, I started by stamping the three layers of a single poinsettia bloom near the center of the cardstock panel, using the three red inks included in the monthly kit. I also stamped the center of the flower with AF207 Butter Bar Mid-tone Shadow Ink and AF255 Pumpkin Pie Mid-tone Shadow Ink inks. Before stamping any additional images, I masked the flower with removable paper tape.
Next, I stamped the letters N, E and L from the CL905 Ribbon Letters by Lia set using the dark green ink included in the kit. To ensure that the sentiment was straight, I used a ruler as a stamping guide. Before stamping the leaves, I created removable paper tape masks for both the N and E. With the poinsettia and both surrounding letters masked, I stamped several leaves on each side of the flower.
I dressed up the final design with two additional sentiments, one from CL891 Kelly’s Fa La La La La and another from CL904 Happy Merry Messages by Lia. For a finishing touch, I completed this nearly one layer card with a twine bow and a pair of gems.
Comment for a chance to win the kit before you can buy it! One lucky winner will be randomly drawn from all of the comments left on the Countdown to Creativity posts, and announced Monday morning, October 5, before the kit goes live at noon EST.
Hope you love this monthly kit as much as we do,
