Hello! Today I’m playing with the beautiful poinsettia stamp set from the October My Monthly Hero kit, and layering the images on vellum. You can learn a little more about this kit on this morning’s post, HERE.
Vellum is a slick surface, so to layer these images without the colors muddling together, I zapped the vellum with a heat gun after every layer stamped. I actually only stamped two layers for the flowers, instead of the three possible, using the for the different red shades. I love how you can decide how many layers you want for your card, depending on how simple or detailed you want it to be.
For every layer of stamping, I zapped the vellum with the heat gun – even the sentiment!
I used gold glitter embossing powder for a little extra bling on the poinsettia centers, stamping and cutting two extra flowers to top of the border I made on the first layer of vellum. The vellum was sewn to the card base to keep everything light and airy, and then topped off with some gems.
A beautiful sentiment, one half stamped on the vellum, the second on the cardstock, ties the card together.
The poinsettia stamps I used are part of the October My Monthly Hero kit, which launches on Monday! Leave a comment on this post for a chance to win the kit before you can buy it! One lucky winner will be randomly drawn from all comments left across all Countdown to Creativity posts between October 1-4. Good luck!
And I hope you’ll give stamp layering on vellum a go – you can get such pretty results!
