Ever see a stamp and it is so inspirational that you don’t want the rest of the card to detract from it? That was my goal with this card and the pear from the new Stamp Your Own Fruit (CL835) set. I wanted people to see that gorgeous font, the cute shape of that pear, and the perfect size of the whole image! I set about making this masculine, image-focused card by stamping the image on white and instead of coloring it, using some splatter to give it color.
I had some scraps and put them to good use on the top of the card. And I know buttons are out, but to me, they are timeless. That’s code for I have a lot of buttons and I need to use them ;) Sooo, I placed one on the top of the paper for an embellishment. Now I am going to confess something, I am not so good at coloring. I do OTHER things with stamps that I am better at. Splatter is one of those things. I also do great with distress inking, paper piercing, stamping on patterned paper, well…you get the point. I took the bottle of spray and unscrewed the top. I flicked the tube end of the pump onto the card. No extra equipment, no water, nothing fussy.
I stamped the Canvas Background in Cup O’ Joe ink before placing the stamped portion on top with pop ups. It is my favorite background stamp of ALL time. It’s an easy way to give your cards some texture. In the end, I accomplished my goal in making a masculine card for my guy.
