Hello Card + Sketch

Hi everyone, it’s Kelly here. One of the most time-consuming parts of making a card for me is the layout. So today I’m making it easy on myself and starting with a sketch. And I’m including it here for all of you to use!

Hero Arts July 2015 Sketch

I decided to create a fun background using the Triangle Patterned Stencil and Distress Inks. I laid the stencil over a piece of watercolor paper, rubbed VersaMark Ink into all the openings and clear heat embossed the pattern.  Then I mixed various shades of blue and green Distress Inks with water to paint over the background.

I die cut a circle window from the watercolor panel and adhered a piece of acetate to the back side. This gave me the perfect place to put my delicate die cut sentiment from the Hello Stamp and Cut set. It makes it look like the message is floating!

I’m a big believer in those small finishing touches that really make the card complete. On this card it was the Glossy Accents on the heart and Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker on the “hello” die that did the trick.

Thanks for joining me today!
