By now, all of my holiday cards have been sent and as the new year approaches, I’ve been thinking of resolutions that I want to make for 2016. At the top of my list is a goal to send more personal messages to the people that I love. Valentine’s Day is a perfect occasion to send unexpected cards to cherished friends and family.
I’m head over heels for the new Floral Heart Stamp & Cut set by Lia from the Valentines 2016 collection! The set includes a beautiful, metal heart die with a floral design and eight, romantic sentiment stamps. Not only will this set be lovely for Valentine’s Day cards, but it will be perfect for creating elegant anniversary and wedding cards too. I’ll also be using this gorgeous heart die for birthday, get well and Mother’s Day cards.
To create my card, I started by blending several, pink distress inks onto a piece of white layering paper and then I splattered the panel with water to create random spots. After the paper dried, I used the heart die to cut a negative heart-shaped space along the right edge.
Then, I placed a square of double-sided adhesive onto a small piece of white layering paper. I used the floral heart die to cut a single heart. After removing all of the negative space pieces from the die-cut heart, I removed the adhesive backing paper and covered the heart with pink glitter. I love how it sparkles and shines! I finished the card with two white embossed sentiments from the same set, a black jute bow, and a trio of pink gems.
And, what would Valentine’s Day be without a bit of candy?
I plan to secretly give a few of these simply embellished candy jars to my husband and friends in February. I absolutely adore this beautiful script sentiment and I’ll be slipping this jar into my husband’s briefcase on the morning of the 14th. To create this small gift, I merely inked some white cardstock, die-cut a heart, embossed a sentiment tag, punched a pair of holes, and then tied it all together with some jute cording. I also added an adhesive dot behind the heart to further secure the heart in place.
Wishing you a wonderful and joyous week,
