Our Makeover Challenge winds down this weekend – Sunday is your final opportunity to get your card entered! I hope you’ve had a chance to play along. I wanted to join in the fun, too, so I remade this card I had posted on my own blog a year or so ago.
I wanted to remake this card with a fall look, so I replaced the star shape with a maple leaf. (And yes, my dear Canadian friends, I did think of you while I was making this!) :-)
To fill in my maple leaf shape, I wanted a small leaf stamp. The little leaf from CL787 Holiday Petals and Leaves was perfect!! I really love this set, the various little icons and messages are so nice for fall and Christmas.
For the shape, I simply searched the internet for a maple leaf image, printed and cut it out to create a homemade template. Then I stamped this one little leaf repeatedly, using all three colors from AF309 Ombré Butter Bar to Orange Soda Ombré ink as well as AF275 Soft Vanilla Shadow Ink. Regular copy paper works really well for this, as it’s easy to get a good image when using such thin paper as your template.
A message from the set stamped in black, as well as a little black twine bow, completed the card.
Thanks for stopping by!
