Decorating Envelopes

Hi, it’s Kelly here and today I’m sharing some fun ways that you can decorate those holiday envelopes. Whether you are sending cards through the mail or attaching them to a gift, a decorated envelope will be sure to get someone to smile before they even see the card.

First, some simple stamping can have a big impact. This design uses the cute ornament image from the Fancy Cuts Christmas set. If you get all your envelopes lined up, you can do each color of ink all at once and save some time! And the frame from the Season’s Sweetings clear stamp set is a great image for creating a block for the address.

Another type of stamping that is great for envelopes is tone-on-tone stamping. It give a subtle and elegant look and is great to use on colored envelopes. And a white gel pen is a simple and inexpensive way to add some detailing to your design.

Lining your envelope with patterned paper is another great option. I used the Envelope Liner Template along with some BasicGrey Evergreen 6×6 papers to create these liners. The liner makes the envelope a bit more sturdy, which is great if your card happens to be a little bulky.

I’ve shared this envelope previously on the blog, but it fits in perfectly with my topic today, so I thought it was worth showing again.
