Coloring Layering Fall Trees

Hi everyone! One of my favorite times of the year is when the leaves on the trees change to gorgeous shades of reds, oranges and yellows. So with that inspiration I created this card using the Color Layering Fall Trees clear set.

I started out by taping a panel of watercolor cardstock down to my work surface. Then I used some Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to create a grassy hill and pale blue sky. Next, I stamped the tree trunks using AF214 Cup O’ Joe Mid-tone Shadow Ink ink, making sure that some of the leaves would overlap the outer border.

In the CL886 Color Layering Fall Trees set there are five different splatter patterns to create the leaves on the trees. I used various shades of Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow Inks to build up my colorful fall trees. You can totally change the look of a tree just by stamping more or less “leaves”!

I didn’t want to detract from the scene with a large sentiment, so I tucked a small message from the DC151 Hello Stamp & Cut right above the trees.  And finally, I tied some yellow string around the bottom of the panel and popped it up on a colored card base.

I’m anxious to play with this set some more and see if I can make trees for all the seasons. I’m thinking a winter scene with white embossing would be so fun!
