Hi! Happy Autumn! Today I am sharing two seasonal cards that were inspired by a love of wreaths. I used the new CL907 Color Layering Wreath set to create two very different fall designs. This set is perfect for creating both modern and traditional style wreaths for every season!
I started my first card by stamping the CG683 Branches Bold Prints on a piece of Sunshine Mix Layering Paper with AF207 Butter Bar Mid-tone Shadow Ink ink to create a subtle background. Using a selection of fall colored inks, I stamped each layer of the wreath from the CL907 Color Layering Wreath set to create beautiful, layered foliage. I stamped several pinecones and berries from this same set and then I used the DI152 Color Layering Wreath Frame Cuts to easily cut each image. I stamped a sentiment from the Not Available set with VersaMark ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder. To finish the card, I embellished the wreath with several gems, added a burlap banner, and then tied the finished panel with a bow.
For my second card, I repeatedly stamped two wreath shapes from the CL907 Color Layering Wreath set across my entire card front with AF207 Butter Bar Mid-tone Shadow Ink and AF255 Pumpkin Pie Mid-tone Shadow Ink inks. Each wreath became a perfect frame for the D6003 Season of Thanks sentiment.
To soften the bold pattern, I layered the top portion of my card with piece of scalloped vellum. I added the D6005 Happy Thanksgiving Seal sentiment, which I stamped twice, and a trio of stamped pinecones from the CL906 Color Layering Dimensional Bird set. Cutting the pinecones was a breeze with the DI153 Color Layering Dimensional Bird Frame Cuts. I finished my card with a pair of ribbons, a button, a few gems, and my favorite white flowers.
