Hi everyone, it’s Libby here, and I’m celebrating NSD – a.k.a. National Scrapbooking Day – one day early! Our family took a trip to Washington, D.C. for spring break last month, and I’ve been itching to scrapbook some of the photos. And when my box of new Hero Arts goodies arrived, including products from the Summer Catalog and the Lia Griffith Collection, I had to dig right in and play with them!
Our days in DC were a bit gray and gloomy with rain and cold, but we were also there just as the cherry blossoms were beginning to bloom. It wasn’t even planned, we just completely lucked out! They were so incredibly beautiful, and we were probably a day or two before seeing them at their peek! We enjoyed walking around the Tidal Basin, over to the Jefferson Monument, taking in all of the beautiful blooms. It completely made up for the gloom!! *happy sigh*
I used the little blossoms in Garden Flowers by Lia as my cherry blossoms on my title and journaling cards. Pink to Red Ombre Ink made it super easy to get a lovely array of shades of pink! In honor of the gloom :) I pulled out my Rainy Day Bold Prints cling background – I absolutely LOVE these new 6×6 backgrounds, they are perfect for making 4×6 cards when you’re doing pocket-style scrapbooking! And of course they are also wonderful for achieving full coverage on a greeting card, too!
The little cherry tree stamp is actually an oldie but goodie from my stash – it was in the Hero Arts + BasicGrey collaboration set called Japanese Garden. It was just too perfect for this layout! And that adorable little heart?? It’s from a new die in the Summer catalog that I’m completely in love with – the Sun Showers Frame Cuts. It cuts a bunch of teeny tiny hearts, and I used them as little bits of dimension and love throughout my layout!
Now how about a giveaway!? We have LP370 Kelly’s Shadow Letters, CL820 Kelly’s Destination, CG671 Forest Floor Bold Prints and CG669 Rainy Day Bold Prints in today’s NSD prize package! If you’re a scrapbooker and haven’t checked all of the fun Clearly Kelly products, you really MUST. I used her Shadow Letters in my title card, and her sets are full of fun phrases and images for scrapbooking both your travels and your daily life!
Just leave me a comment and tell me what’s your favorite spring flower (or in my case, flowering tree!). I’ll choose a random comment, and announce the winner next week. Please leave your comment by midnight EST on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
Will you be doing any scrapbooking for NSD this year? I hope to spend hours with my photos and stamps tomorrow… :)
