Cat and Mouse Friends

Hi everyone! Tami here. One of the things I love about the cardmaking process is deciding which messages to pair with which images, mixing and matching stamps from various sets to give them different meanings. When I saw the cute mouse from the Playful Animals set, I thought of an unlikely friendship…with a cat! All that was needed was a friendship sentiment, which I found in the the Enjoy Today set. And a card was born…

I thought it would be fun to perch the mouse right on top of the cat’s head. A mischievous little critter…maybe a bit like Jerry from the Tom and Jerry cartoon!?

This card was quick and easy to make. Here are a few tips:

  • Ink spray diluted with water on a craft sheet makes a great watercolor wash for the background.
  • Don’t feel like coloring? Paper piece instead. I stamped the cat onto polka dot patterned paper and the mouse onto solid cardstock.
  • Easily add a touch of shading to the animals by sponging ink along the outlines.
  • Stamp small hearts as a finishing touch.

Oh, and a little birdie told me there will be dies to coordinate with the Playful Animals set in the next release. Yay!

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the weekend!
