Today’s card is a pretty versatile one – just switch up the sentiment (and colors, if you’d like!) and you have a basic design that will fit almost any occasion! The theme for this card fits perfectly with the current Holiday Cardmaking challenge!
The Sparkle Borders set is so versatile, in and of itself – the banners could be used for so many different themed cards. For my card, I used the super cute light bulb border and stamped it several times across the front of my card, going from top to bottom. When stamping, I made sure that I didn’t stamp every border in the same place as the one above it. Since the borders are longer than my 4.25″ card front, I would often just stamp the proceeding border slight more to the left (or the right, as the situation called for it) from the one above. Every time I also alter my angle – some are tilted downwards, some go up – just like a really strand of light bulbs!
Coloring these little bulbs didn’t take very long, and for an extra touch, I added a quick coat of Glossy Accents to each. If you wanted them really shiny and even more dimensional, you could add two coats.
To get a sentiment on the card while keeping the focus on the beautiful lights, I stamped and white heat embossed a beautiful sentiment on black cardstock, then trimmed it out and adhered it to the card front using dimensional adhesive.
That’s it! Use the borders for birthdays, anniversaries – so many occasions! Just switch out the sentiment, and use your favorite color scheme! I hope you have as much fun with this set as I did!
