A Very Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! This is Yana and today I'd like to share an easy to make holiday card using a non-holiday stencil.

Find out how to make this card -- click for complete supplies and instructions.

To create a background for my card I used the Two Way Arrows Stencil from Hero Arts and BasicGrey and made an embossed background. I used a stencil as an embossing plate and ran it through my die cutting machine using a Spellbinders Tan Embossing Mat (and an embossing sandwich). This way I was able to create an unexpected result - a very cool embossed background. You can also have a letterpressed look by inking your stencil before using it to emboss cardstock.

Next I stamped my sentiment from the Naughty or Nice set using Wet Cement shadow ink and added that to my card. I usually like to use black ink, but I felt that black would be a bit too dramatic for this card, so I went with my second favorite color - wet cement.

Finally, I embellished the card with a few gems - simply scattered them around the bottom part of the card and my sentiment. yana-signature [hero_products skus="AF213, CH117, CH153, CH193, CL712, PS610, PS640, SA030"]

Your card is so elegant and I’m going to try the “embossing with a stencil” technique today. Thanks for the reminder that stencils can be used this way!

Wow, this card is fantastic. The simplicity of the all white with the embossed background is lovely.

What a striking card Yana – and a great way to get another look from the stencil!
