Hello crafty friends! Are you ready to Stay Crafty With Hero? We don't know about you, but we are ready to Bring on Spring! So that's the theme for this month's challenge. Whatever spring means to you - brighter days, buds on trees, flowers blooming, or perhaps even rain? Whatever spring means to you, let that inspire your cardmaking or creative time this month. We'll include all of the challenge details further down this post, but first, here's a happy, uplifting spring card from Maria!

Hi everybody! It's Maria here with a cheerful card to "Bring on the Spring" and kick off this month's Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge. For today's card I paired the Butterfly Garden Background Cling with the Monarch Butterfly Fancy Die

The Butterfly Garden Background stamp is such a gorgeous and detailed stamp. It's a ton of fun to color in detail but today I wanted to share a way to use it that is quick and yields a gorgeous result. I started out by ink-blending my background using Reactive inks in Lemon Drop, Creamsicle and Taffy

I made sure that my background was completely dry and treated it with my anti-static tool. I used Versamark ink and White Satin Pearl embossing powder to heat emboss my background using the Butterfly Garden Background stamp. I love this embossing powder because it gives a beautiful pearlescent finish that allows the ink colors beneath it to show through for a unique tone-on-tone look. I glued my background to an A2, top-folding card base and set it aside.

I cut a butterfly out of Periwinkle cardstock using the Monarch Butterfly Fancy Die. I wanted to layer it on top of vellum so I traced around the outside of the die on vellum and cut it out with my scissors. This gave me the perfect sized butterfly to make the delicate die cut butterfly pop when they were glued together. I adhered my butterflies onto the background using a thin strip of foam tape to give it dimension.

To finish my card off I added a sentiment stamped from Life is Beautiful in Sapphire Pigment ink and heat embossed in clear embossing powder. After I heat embossed, I ink-blended some subtle color onto the sentiment strips and flagged the ends.

Well, that does it for today you guys! I hope this card inspires you to join us for this month's Stay Crafty Challenge and Bring on the Spring! Have an amazing day!
