MMH Countdown to Creativity

And here it is, our final Countdown post before launching our December My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons tomorrow, Monday, December 5th at 1pm eastern/10am pacific. Libby is here sharing a few more ideas for using the main kit.

This month’s kit is so much fun! There are stamps and dies for celebrating, congratulating, inviting – you name it! For my projects, I used a couple of the gorgeous papers included in the kit. I just love this pink and gold color combo!

The kit comes with four half sheets of some extremely fun and shiny metallic gold foil cardstock. It is so fab, it made me want to die cut ALL THE THINGS with it! I love how the word dies in the kit look when cut out all gold and shiny! And in addition the gold foil, there are also two half sheets for four other metallic cardstocks – pink, blue, purple and an antique gold (a lovely, more subtle gold than the gold foil!). All of the papers this month are so festive and fun! There’s also an incredible new gold glitter embossing powder in the kit. It wasn’t ready in time for me to get to play with, but I’m telling you, it is FAB! It’s sitting at Hero Arts now, waiting to ship to you in your kits – and I have some en route to me now and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

But in addition to the fabulous “extras” in the kit, the stamps and dies are really great, too. There’s the word dies I mentioned – “cheers” (which as you can tell, I really love!) and “party” – as well as matching frame cuts for the various stamps included in the kit – cake, party hat, noisemaker, mask, champagne bottle, the list goes on! And there’s some really cool paper layering-style dies that create a sparkler or sunburst effect!! I didn’t play with them for today’s post, but hopefully you’ll see them in action in the blog hop tomorrow! :)

The card above couldn’t be easier – I just stamped that awesome cheers stamp repeatedly in Ultra Pink ink, and then embossed it in gold on a little banner to make it stand out. I love that the “cheers” and “party” words are both dies and stamps! I added a strip of the gold foil cardstock along the edge, and then some fun narrow washi I had in my stash. (Speaking of washi, there’s a different custom washi tape in the kit, too!!)

And below, I made a fun little tag using the Tag Infinity dies and the pink paper in the kit. The party hat was stamped, colored with Copics and die cut. Sequins and twine from my stash finished it off.

Oh, and that confetti in all of my photos?? That’s made with an add-on die that will be launched tomorrow. It’s a big background die with confetti – you can make a background piece, or you can save all of the fun little bits to use as confetti! They’d be tons of fun in a shaker card, too!
