We recently had an addition to our family – a precious little niece Sophia and as I needed to make a baby card to celebrate her birth I created a few that I’m sharing today (I honestly couldn’t stop heat embossing, die cutting and coloring these adorable little piggies, rabbits and kitties).
I kept my projects rather simple – first I heat embossed animal outlines in gold embossing powder, I didn’t want to have a black outline for these so I went with gold. Cut out using matching dies (and also scissors) and colored with alcohol markers.
You’ll notice pajamas on a few of the animals have a bit of dotted texture – I thought it would be fun to add little dots to these to diversify the “fabric” on them. I love the way it turned out! I’ll have to try stripes and little hearts too.
Next I created 3 cards bases using Hero Arts Layering papers in light yellow and light green. As I wanted these to have a stamped background I used matching inks and stamped “welcome” and “little one” from the Little One set for a tone on tone look.
Finally I added the little animals on top and embellished my cards with gems.
By the way – as I was editing photos of these projects I realized the little pigs reminded me of the piggies from the “Three Little Pigs” fairy tale. I bet these would be so fun to use for themed cupcake toppers or even do an entire themed baby party with these.
Thanks for stopping by,
