A Very Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! This is Yana and today I’d like to share an easy to make holiday card using a non-holiday stencil.

To create a background for my card I used the Two Way Arrows Stencil from Hero Arts and BasicGrey and made an embossed background.

I used a stencil as an embossing plate and ran it through my die cutting machine using a Spellbinders Tan Embossing Mat (and an embossing sandwich). This way I was able to create an unexpected result – a very cool embossed background. You can also have a letterpressed look by inking your stencil before using it to emboss cardstock.

Next I stamped my sentiment from the Naughty or Nice set using Wet Cement shadow ink and added that to my card. I usually like to use black ink, but I felt that black would be a bit too dramatic for this card, so I went with my second favorite color – wet cement.

Finally, I embellished the card with a few gems – simply scattered them around the bottom part of the card and my sentiment.
