A Bit of Kindness + a FREE Download

Today I’ve got a fun technique to share using the Hero Arts color layering stamps in a slightly different way. I’ve created a set of monochromatic cards that use various other mediums to create the highlights and details on the solid images.

For each card I only used one colored ink, a white pigment ink, a white gel pen and a white colored pencil to create the background. I started off by stamping the solid image with a colored ink that matched the card panel. And then used the various white mediums to create the details. The white gel pen creates a very bright white accent, while the white colored pencil is great for adding the lighter shading.

The white heat embossed the greeting on vellum is a great way to add a message without distracting from all the work that went in to creating that beautiful background. The kindness stamp I used here, along with another clear set, will be available for purchase on Friday in the Hero Arts online shop!

A fun thing I like to do on the insides of my cards is to write my message on a separate piece of paper, which allows the recipient to pass the card along to someone else. Just another way to to share a little more handmade kindness!

Share Handmade Kindness Challenge

I also wanted to mention the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge that is going on this month. Throughout the month of November, I am challenging crafters to share an act of handmade kindness with someone. Whether you make a card, a note, or a treat… anything handmade counts. Each week there will be a new challenge, as well as videos, giveaways, and more. For more information, visit sharehandmadekindness.com or jennifermcguireink.com. (#sharehandmadekindness)

Thanks for joining me today and go share some kindness!
