While you have your supplies out, stamp an extra heart and use it on a card or scrapbook page! If you are using it on a card, add one magnet to the heart and another to the card front. Stamp Hadmade Definition on the back and sign your name underneath. Here's another tip: you can use the back of a Heart for Stamping to practice on. |

Decide on the Color Scheme
I have a mostly white kitchen with dishes of all colors, but my favorite things are my orange toaster, orange skillet, bright yellow soup pot and orange and yellow striped towels. So that settled the color scheme for me.
For the flower:
Stamp five Hearts for Stamping using inks that coordinate with your kitchen color scheme. I used yellow citrus, yellow ochre, tangerine, burnt sienna and dark brown chalk inks. Here are the basic steps used for each heart:
- Place the Create Collage stamp rubber side up on your work table and ink all over, starting with the lightest colors.
- Place a Heart for Stamping face down directly on the rubber. Press on it lightly so that it picks up the ink. Doing it this way allows you place the heart exactly where you want it. To prevent getting ink on your fingers or smudging your stamping, pick up the stamp and flip it over so that the stamped heart falls off.
- Rub the edges of the heart with yellow citrus.
- Ink just the large flower on the Heart Flower Blossoms with dark brown ink and a few of the surrounding leaves and stamp. Or, stamp the smaller flower and swirl.
- Stamp Dot Flourish, Handmade Definition and Play Print to fill in empty spaces.
- Add gemstones to the flower centers.
- Add a magnet to the back.
For the stem:
- Cut out a stem from brown cardstock. I just grabbed a pair of scissors and started cutting, but you may want to sketch it with a pencil first.
- Stamp Handmade Definition all over the stem with dark brown ink.
- Glue stem to a cereal box and cut out. Here's a tip: if you glue the stem to the gray inside of the cereal box it will adhere better than the coated outside.
- Add magnets to the back.
For the leaves:
Make the leaves the same way that you did the stem, only stamp with Play Print in dark brown ink.
The final flower with the stem and leaves is approximately 19" tall. |
Create magnets to match the color scheme of your kitchen. Be sure to stamp the Heart Flower Blossoms in a dark color that will show up well. Create the stem and leaves in the same color as the Heart Flower Blossoms, or green.
