I always try the design on a piece of paper, cut the same size as the matte first. |

Photo Matte
By Nancy Taylor
Personalizing a gift can be easy and inexpensive. Stamp the matte to coordinate with your favorite photograph. If you have beautiful sunset or landscape photos sometimes just stamping a bit of texture around the photo gives it a special touch. |

Additional Materials:
assorted colors of paper, scissors, glue, frames with mattes included |
| Instructions: |
- Stamp a background in the desired color and allow the ink to dry. The blue was a bit bright and took away from the photo so I rubbed the white ink pad over the blue to create a softer color.
- Using the black stamp pad, stamp flowers on a variety of papers, cut out and layer some of the inside flowers atop others of a different color.
- Arrange the flowers as desired, and stamp the words around the frame borders. Add the photo securely under the matte and place in the frame.
|
When you use mattes that come into contact with the glass use stamped embellishments that are not too bulky. Some frames are shadow box types that can accommodate thicker accessories.
