For cards with multiple labels: Decorate as desired, then peel 1/2 of the sheet away from the labels, fold the sheet onto itself. Press the adhesive exposed side of the labels to the cardstock, peel the rest of the backing sheet away and press the labels in place. |

Label Cards
By Shari Carroll
This month I wanted to re-visit working with office supplies as I did last year because it’s a back to school month. |
Instructions:
I decided to play with all purpose labels that measure 1”x 2 ¾”. They come in a sheet of 4 and are quite inexpensive. I challenged myself by trying some of my favorite techniques to see what was possible. This is what I came up with.
Holiday Card - Color the labels with Tim Holtz distress inks (Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans) using an ink applicator.
- Emboss the large snowflake with VersaMark Ink and white powder.
- Carefully peel and place the labels onto a panel of Mocha cardstock.
- Stamp and cut out a Christmas tree. Add the tree, pearls and a greeting to the panel.
- Cut the card from Bazzill 12”x12” scallop paper, affix the panel in place.
Note: I tried to do a clear embossed resist, but the labels seem too thin, the image was mottled.
Flower Panel card - Stamp the Large Caps letters with various colors of light toned inks.
- Stamp the flourish flower with brown ink onto the labels and a blue panel.
- Carefully peel the labels and place them onto the blue panel.
- Affix the panel to a card.
Scrap-lings Okay, sometimes I stumble upon ideas by happenstance. These scrap-ling cards are strips of 1¼”x 4¼” which were bi-products from making square cards out of Hero Arts Notecards. I have kept them in my scrap basket not wanting to throw them away. FUN! I’m reusing scraps! The label fits perfectly plus allows room for embellishments at the top or bottom.
Have fun coming up with other ideas using office type supplies along with your favorite Hero Arts stamps and ink. |
