VersaMark
By Hero Arts Staff Instructions: Rubber stamping has come up with another "must have" to go with our stamp collections: the VersaMark pad from Tsukineko. Not to be confused with the VersaColor line of pigment inks, this pad will give a new look to your stamping creations. In essence, the VersaMark pad is clear ink. When stamped, it gives a "watermark" look. It brings out the natural colors of the paper with a subtle impression, and it real beauty is its versatility since it works on many different colors of cardstock. Depending on the color of cardstock, the intensity of the "watermark" varies, so it is good to experiment to get the look you want. To use, ink your image with VersaMark, then stamp and let dry. As the image dries, the watermark image will change color. On darker colors, you will get a more vivid look of the watermark image, while on lighter colors, it will look more subtle. A wonderful example of using the VersMark pad for backgrounds is the Leaf Art Drawings (LL581) where the VersaMark pad is used with Leaf Drawing stamps for the background on a dark green card stock. For a subtler look, the VersaMark can be used on really light cardstock, where the images may only be apparent under a bright light. Always make sure that your stamps are clean (a stamp cleaner is recommended) before using your pad. The pad is a whitish color and will stain easily if an unclean stamp comes into contact with it. However, it your pad becomes stained, it will still work. The fun thing to do is to just "play" with this great pad and you never know what wonderful creations you will hit upon! VersaMark adds yet another dimension to the wonderfully creative world of stamping.
