In 1999, when Barbara attended a trade show with her parents, she wasn’t into stamps. Her sister, already a veteran stamper, wanted some new images but there was a two-stamp minimum, so Mom bought two of each stamp her sister wanted.
Barbara was still not interested and told her mother, “No thank you, I am already doing enough crafts.”
But six months later, when Barbara picked up a stamping magazine, she was inspired and asked for that box of stamps and supplies her mother had stashed away.
“It was like Christmas,” Barbara says. “The box contained dozens of stamps, inks and embossing powder. I bought some cardstock and I was all set.”
With the help of the Internet she hooked up with some like-minded women and they formed a stamp club. They spent hours talking about the latest techniques and showing off their creations.
Since picking up that box of stamps, Barbara has had many of her cards published in magazines, including The Rubber Stamper, as well as on the Hero Arts website.
Barbara lives in Canada with her husband and three children.
