Hello Sunshine
By Kelly Rasmussen
Create a unique textured background using stamps and a border punch.
Instructions:
- Cut 1 1/4" off of a Punch Folded Card to create a square card base.
- Create a bunch of white zig-zag strips from Snow Layering Paper using a decorative border punch.
- Take half of the zig-zags and line them up so there are no gaps in between strips. Tip: Use a temporary adhesive to keep the zig-zags in place and lined up perfectly.
- Stamp the Clouds background using Soft Pool Shadow Ink on the zig-zags.
- Now line up the other half of the white zig-zags and stamp the Life of the Party Dots image using Field Greens Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. Then use a foam blending tool to lightly ink over top to create green background.
- Cover a 4" square piece of Snow Layering Paper with adhesive. Begin laying down the zig-zags strips one by one.
- When finished, trim excess off edges and adhere to card base.
- Stamp flower image using brown ink onto cloud and grass background.
- Stamp flower image again onto yellow and green cardstock. Cut out flower and leaves. Adhere to card base with foam adhesive over top of stamped flower.
- Stamp sentiment using Ruby ink on a strip of Snow Layering Paper. Adhere to card with foam adhesive.
- Thread a Sunshine Button with white string and adhere to center of flower.
Use some temporary adhesive to keep the zig-zag strips in place while you stamp your pattern. Any shifting will cause the background pattern to not line up correctly.
