It's Your Birthday
By Tami Hartley

Combine text and bold graphic elements to create a fun birthday card for a teenage boy.

Instructions:

  1. Cut top folding card base from Snow Layering Paper and rub Silver Metallic StazOn inkpad directly on card edges. Allow to dry. Sponge edges with black ink.
  2. Stamp Happy Definition on gray cardstock piece with black ink. Bend, crumple, and crease to create a distressed look. Apply extra black ink to edges and creases.
  3. Thin black acrylic paint with a bit of water. Dip an old toothbrush into paint and bend bristles with your finger, creating a splatter effect.
  4. Partially ink Life of the Party Dots with Versamark and stamp in corners only. Heat emboss with silver embossing powder.
  5. Paint white acrylic paint over background as shown. Allow to dry and then overstamp "happy birthday" with gray ink on the diagonal.
  6. Stamp "it's your birthday" with black ink.
  7. Cut an arrow, a thin strip, and three dots from green cardstock and adhere as shown.
  8. Mat with Snow Layering Paper and adhere to card with pop dots.

Tip:
Have fun and get a little messy!
