It's Your Birthday
By Tami Hartley
Combine text and bold graphic elements to create a fun birthday card for a teenage boy.
Instructions:
- Cut top folding card base from Snow Layering Paper and rub Silver Metallic StazOn inkpad directly on card edges. Allow to dry. Sponge edges with black ink.
- Stamp Happy Definition on gray cardstock piece with black ink. Bend, crumple, and crease to create a distressed look. Apply extra black ink to edges and creases.
- Thin black acrylic paint with a bit of water. Dip an old toothbrush into paint and bend bristles with your finger, creating a splatter effect.
- Partially ink Life of the Party Dots with Versamark and stamp in corners only. Heat emboss with silver embossing powder.
- Paint white acrylic paint over background as shown. Allow to dry and then overstamp "happy birthday" with gray ink on the diagonal.
- Stamp "it's your birthday" with black ink.
- Cut an arrow, a thin strip, and three dots from green cardstock and adhere as shown.
- Mat with Snow Layering Paper and adhere to card with pop dots.
Have fun and get a little messy!
