Secret Garden Gate Card
By Shari Carroll

Garden gates open to reveal a secret garden inside.

Create a gate-fold card with an acetate notecard and digital flowers.

Instructions:

  1. Trim an acetate notecard to 3 1/2" wide from the fold.
  2. Open the card an lay flat on scoring board. Score 1 3/4" from each edge.
  3. Crease and fold on the new score lines so they meet in the center of the card.
  4. Ink the Iron Gate image with White StazOn. Line up the center of the image with the center seam.
  5. Stamp the arched iron image above the gate overlapping slightly.
  6. Trim the acetate following the arch of the image.
  7. Cut a piece of heavy cardstock to 5 1/2" x 3 1/2". Adhere this to the back of the card to keep it flat. Trim to follow the arch. (You are not using the natural fold of the card, you are covering it with cardstock to keep it flat).
  8. Print the digital image provided (or create your own) and trim to 3 1/2" wide.
  9. Open the flaps and adhere the printed background to the inside of the card. Trim to follow the arch.
  10. Stamp the greeting with black ink.
  11. Add button, pearls and flower with a hemp bow to the front.
  12. Tie a ribbon around the card to create a band to keep the card closed.

Variation:
Stamp a flower panel to create your own garden background.
