Snow Much Fun! + Giveaway Winners

Oct 26, 2016 Hero Arts Info

Hello! When we launched our Holiday Cardmaking Challenge a couple weeks ago, I shared a little pop-up box card I had made using the Holiday Cheer stamp set. I never got around to cleaning up the supplies on my desk (oopsie!) so I just had to have some more fun with them!

I have a bunch of wood slices in my stash – you can find these at some major craft stores, or online at places like Etsy. They are super fun to stamp on! I use Intense Black ink for my stamping, it works perfectly. After stamping the images from Holiday Cheer, I used my pencils to color in the images. The little “hi” message bubble was stamped with Strawberry ink, and I added the snowflakes to the background with Unicorn ink. Unicorn is a pigment ink and sits on top of the colored pencil well – you just need to set it aside to dry. I plan to make several of these little guys for Christmas gifts this. I’ll either hot glue a magnet on the back to turn them into refrigerator decorations, or drill a small hole at the top to make ornaments.

Next, I made a happy little card. I had extra pieces from the pop-up box on my desk, so this card came together very quickly! It’s easy to have extras when there are matching dies for cutting out the pieces! Coloring was done on this card with Copic markers.

I love the background decorated with Snowy Drifts Fancy Dies – after coloring with Copics, I added some textured snow and glitter with goodies from my stash. The sparkle comes from Star Dust Stickles, and the snow was done with a Pentart Snow Pen. I love using the Planner Page Edges to add a little scalloping to the bottom of the card.
